I spent several weeks this summer at Sonoma Horse Park exhibiting my equine art collection during the Summer Classic Horse Jumping and Equestrian Challenges. While I am not a show jumping photographer, I was able to photograph the interactions between humans and horses which is what I seek to explore through my lens and artwork. You can read more about that here.
While at the Horse Park, I met Shafia and her daughter, Mei Lan. After a few conversations, Shafia decided to schedule a portrait session for Mei Lan with Linus as gift to her daughter. We met at Nicasio Riding Club. Linus is a very good boy; very gentle and patient. A beautiful spirit to photograph. His connection with Mei Lan is sincere; their relationship is special and unique. At the end of the portrait session, Mei Lan rode Linus bareback for the first time. It was a thrill to be there documenting that moment for the two of them. Thank you Shafia, Mei Lan and Linus for allowing me to spend time with you and capture special moments for you forever.
