For those of you who have been following my photographic journey with horses, you might remember my equine fine art exhibition at Sonoma Horse Park last summer. (Feel free to pause your reading and catch up on the exhibit here.) While attending the show jumping competitions, I had the opportunity to meet a lot of horses and their owners. I loved connecting with like-minded people who shared their experience with and stories about horses and the emotional bond between horses and humans.
It was at Sonoma Horse Park that I met Sarah Appel, Owner and Editor in Chief of Horse & Style Magazine. Sarah is definitely a horse lover, hence, a whole magazine dedicated to these magnificent creatures. While being a dedicated mom who is always in the pony ring, she also manages North Peak Equestrian Center in Walnut Creek. And that’s where we met up for the family photography session you’re about to view below. Sarah’s husband Matt and their two daughters, Ella and Piper, along with Willy the Pony, were totally game for a little fun!

In closing, I want to say a big thank you to Sarah, Matt, Ella, Piper and Willy for letting me spend time with you! It was my pleasure to capture this moment in time and be the official photographer of the Appel Family Christmas card. I hope you enjoy the memories and the images for years to come.
